The Seine source is not a trickle of pure water gushing from a rock,
but a bath of stagnant water in which visitors throw coins to have good luck.
At the bath bottom, the water go throughout a circular hole of about 15 cm diameter, then it flows in a grassy area which becomes a little swamp.
A man crosses it and says loudly : «  I am the first man who has crossed the Seine river by foot ! »
